A space maintainer sometimes looks like braces, but is not meant to move teeth, but instead keep teeth from moving. It is needed when a tooth is removed before it was ready to fall out naturally. It is important to consider how to prevent teeth from moving after a tooth has been extracted.

About Dr. Ryan

Dr. Ryan is from the Philadelphia Suburbs. He graduated from Temple University’s Dental School in 2016. After dental school Dr. Ryan served as a dentist in the United States Navy. While in the military he and his wife lived in San Diego, California, Okinawa, Japan, and Quantico, Virginia.

  Was referred here for a specialized procedure and was nervous about being pushed into something unnecessary. The dentist was clear and kind in his explanations and ultimately told me I did not need the procedure for my child. Staff were also courteous and the place was clean and kid-friendly.
