Tongue Tied / Lip Tied
A tongue tie and lip tie occur when the tongue or lip is attached to other parts of the mouth too tightly – so we call it “tied down”. It is usually “tied down” by a piece of skin called the “frenulum”. Removing the frenulum is easy and does not feel any worse than a pizza burn. Treating a tongue tie or lip tie can help to improve breast feeding, bottle feeding, speech, eating, and thumb sucking.
