Pediatric Dentistry for Babies

On occasion babies and newborns need to see the dentist right away. Did you know some babies are born with teeth? No problem though, Dr. Ryan can help. We also treat babies who have “tongue-tie” or “lip-tie”.

Common reasons for a baby to see the dentist:

“Tongue-tie and “Lip-tie” are due to a tight “frenulum”. A frenulum is piece of skin that attaches to the tongue or lip — for some children the frenulum is very short, causing the tongue or lip to be “tied down”. A consultation is required to determine what the best treatment is.

“Neo Natal Teeth” are teeth that appear in a child’s mouth in their first 30 days of life. These teeth are often loose and can make breast feeding difficult. A consultation is required to determine what the best treatment is.

“Infantile Cysts” are bumps and lumps that appear in a baby’s mouth. Most of the time they are totally harmless and go away on their own. It is best to allow a trained professional to examine the cyst in person.

  This is one of the best Pediatrics office in Philadelphia. Excellent costumer service from the front desk ladies. Doctor Ryan is phenomenal at what he does & made my 4 yr feel comfortable & relaxed while getting his fillings done. He was so informative & patient. Most offices rush you through just to get to the next patient. He took his time with us & really heard out all my questions & concerns. He also has an amazing sense of humor 😁 Great dental assistants in the back, extremely professional & pleasant. I am a dental assistant myself, been in the field for 16yrs & I am extremely picky when it comes to choosing the right dentist.   Brought my 14 month old for her first dentist visit and couldn’t be happier with the choice I made. The staff was extremely nice and welcoming and quelled every ounce of anxiety I had surrounding her first visit. I left with every question I had answered and I can confidently say I know she’s in great hands! They also a super quick with responding to messages and inquires!!!   I was nervous to take my 18 month old to her first dentist appointment, but Dr. Ryan did a fantastic job. He took the time to answer all my questions and help me and my daughter feel at ease.
